SKEGNESS GREYHOUND STADIUM
This site is not an official website for the track shown here and is neither approved or endorsed by the stadium. I am indebted to Richard English for helping to construct this page. |
The greyhound track in the popular Lincolnshire seaside town of Skegness was situated at 0° 16' E 53° 11' N and operated as an independent track throughout its history. The track was based near Marsh Lane and had a circumference of 370 metres. Sprint races were run over 273 metres, standard races over 460 metres and distance races over 640 metres. |
The track closed in 1991 although the stadium still exists today and is used for car racing. |
This section gives a comprehensive picture of
the badges produced by the track throughout the ages, but only provides the briefest of
glimpses of its history. For those wishing to undertake further research we can recommend
a visit to http://astore.amazon.co.uk/wwwgreyhoundd-21 where further reading can be undertaken. |
